Published in the UK by C. Arthur Pearson and the initial digest sized western books had no numbering but by 1957 they started to number the books at the back inside page with for example (W/133/10/57) meaning W 133 October 1957!
C. Arthur Pearson Ltd was a British publisher of newspapers, periodicals, books, and comics that operated from 1890 to c. 1965. The company was founded by C. Arthur Pearson, later to be known as Sir Arthur Pearson, 1st Baronet.
